When people find out that I have gone back to school to obtain my masters degree in special education they first tell me how great that is and ask me about my experience with the university, and what it is like to be an older student all the normal questions. Then I get the question, so what grade do you want to teach, that is when I get the looks and comments. I want to teach Autistic Children, as they say all children can learn... I get comments like better you than me, or oh wow, I guess someone has to do it. And they are right someone has to do it, these children are amazing, wonderful, loving kids that deserve the best teacher out there, the teacher that believes they can learn and has the desire to teach them.
My student teaching is in an autisim class. I am excited to get to know the six wonderful children in this class and too learn from them.
