Student Teaching Placement. Oh My!!

So far the biggest struggle I have faced with my school work has been student teaching placement. Part of me believes that it has something to do with my choice of schools and the fact that I selected to obtain my Masters online instead of the traditional brick and mortar college. I completed all the necessary requirements by January of last year. I completed my course work in August of this year, and did not obtain my placement till last week, the first week of Jan 2012. In November I went to the district office, introduced myself to the placement coordinator, and then volunteered in my school of choice. I am certain that had I not taken matters into my own hands I would not have made to this point yet..
